"I had always felt that people won't respect me if I'm not tough."

Maggie is 28 years old with a PhD in chemistry and an undying love for jiu jitsu. She feels that there are vast similarities between hard sciences--like chemistry-- and jiu jitsu. The creativity, trial and error, and beauty of both jiu jitsu and chemistry are what keep Maggie coming back. After years of training, on November 19, 2022, Maggie was surprised by her professor and instructors and awarded her brown belt, which is a tremendous accomplishment.
