President Biden is promising to increase access to broadband Internet in rural areas. During a Raleigh speech last month, the President touted his American Rescue Plan, which included more than $25 billion to invest in affordable, high-speed Internet all across America. But what will this really look like for North Carolinians?



UNC’s plan to install license plate readers sparks privacy concerns
UNC-Chapel Hill Interim Chancellor Lee Roberts says campus safety is one of his top priorities. Those concerns have been top of mind since last semester’s fatal shooting of Professor Zijie Yan. Part of Roberts’ plan is the installation of license plate readers across campus. UNC recently signed a contract with surveillance company Flock Safety to put up 23 license plate reader cameras.
